The COVID pandemic has had Rob Zombie bunkered down with his wife, Sheri Moon, at their other home in Connecticut. There since March, he says it’s “the longest I’ve ever been stuck in one place ever in my life because usually there’s a tour or something.” There are no tours on the horizon, but there is a new album, Zombie’s seventh solo LP and first in five years, coming soon: The Lunar Injection Kool Aid Eclipse Conspiracy. Ahead of its release, we reunited the “monster metal” icon with comedian Brian Posehn, who is not only a friend but also a collaborator, having appeared as the ill-fated Jimmy in 2005’s The Devil’s Rejects. Their wide-ranging conversation underscored that, to Zombie, horror is no laughing matter.
The new Winter 2020 issue also comes with alternate collectible covers featuring Poppy and Ghostemane (available now via our store), as well as stories on Iron Maiden, Melvins, Nothing, Nova Twins, Dying Wish, Hjelvik, Tom Morello and Adam Jones’ shared love of Eddie Van Halen, and more.
